Italian At Last

In 2004, Trieste (pop 240,000) near the northernmost point of the Meditteranean, celebrated its 50th year as an Italian city. For countless centuries it's ownership oscillated between Austria, Italy and the former Yugoslavia. It is a very classic city with the largest waterfront piazza in Italy (bottom photo). This was our last day in Italy.

  1. G'day Paul and John from Manhattan! Great to join you in the summer mode, even though we're still oceans apart. Enjoy the Mediterranean sun while you can. Looks like you are - you both look tanned, relaxed and fabulous. Keep it up!

  2. Paul, Happy Name Day! Were you able to find a church to light a candle? Surely! It must be difficult leaving glorious Italy behind and moving on.

Take pity on us. Melbourne overnight temps in past week about 3 - 7 C. Ice on cars most mornings and forecast for next 3 days wet and 13C. However, as always the sports mad capital of Australia saw 30,000+ people gather in the city to watch the great match in which we were robbed!
